To Accurately Present Your Companies’ Carbon Footprint, You Must Be Able To Account For Those Emissions That You Do Not Directly Control (Scope 3)

While companies are used to reporting their own direct emissions, there is still a considerable way to go before they are able to account accurately for emissions produced in the upstream supply chain (scope 3 emissions sources). How should companies account directly for the carbon produced by a truck that they purchased and used to transport goods, or for the tyres on that truck, for example? In this as yet unchartered area there is a clear need for additional guidance on scope 3 accounting and reporting including industry benchmarking on which scope 3 emissions sources a company should include in their inventory and how they should be calculating them. The ‘Scope 3 Carbon Accounting In The Supply Chain’ Summit organised by London Business Conferences will provide practical information from those leaders in the field who are taking action to calculate their scope 3 emissions in a complete manner.

Scope 3 Is Difficult - That’s A Fact. This Event Will Deliver Solutions And Provide An Opportunity For Cross-Sector Practice Exchange
And
Defining The Boundaries And Analyzing The Different Stages Of The Supply Chain For Scope 3

It is commonly acknowledged that Scope 3 is a difficult set of emissions to get a grip on - that’s why many companies in many industry sectors have struggled with Scope 3 carbon accounting and the job of actually calculating the emissions within their supply chain.

This one-day practical Summit will provide a truly cross-sector approach on Scope 3 Emissions – highlighting who has already got started and what their approach has been. Through a series of practitioner–based case studies, the Summit will provide an update from different industry sectors on how and why they are tackling scope 3 emissions including the latest tools and techniques being developed to capture the information within the supply chain, and how they are working in practice.

Identify what tools and techniques being developed to capture the information within the supply chain and to learn how companies are integrating this reporting element within their supply chain.

Hear what methods are being used, the level of accuracy they have, and how other companies have developed and implemented systems for scope 3 emissions.

Defining the Boundaries and Analyzing the Different Stages of The Supply Chain for Scope 3

Our event will show you how to get started with Scope 3 accounting including HOW to identify your key suppliers if there are hundreds and thousands of them and what constitutes a sufficient level of reporting for them. Featuring unique end-user perspectives from the water, energy, pharmaceutical and aerospace industries, the programme concentrates on defining the boundaries of Scope 3 emissions, how to analyse the different stages of the supply chain and developing consistent reporting techniques. As data on Scope 3 emissions is currently being collected and reported in a variety of different ways there is also a need to build consistency into processes and develop standards for the collecting and reporting of information. ‘Scope 3 Carbon Accounting In The Supply Chain’ will provide a timely opportunity for the industry to share information and get the ball rolling on the development of new standards.

Day One of the Summit features detailed case studies and interactive panel sessions to help you gain a clearer picture of how different industry sectors are tackling their Scope 3 Emissions. Day Two provides the opportunity to further develop your working knowledge of the subject by attending our exclusive industry-specific, facilitated roundtable discussions for the practical application of ideas in your business including a special working group to assist smaller companies in the supply chain that can’t measure their own footprint and don’t have the resources or facilities available to do so.
